Mid-April Hat Trick!!
By Ronnie Booth
It's April and the flat season is now under way, and it can only be said that Rogues Gallery Racing are flying high! Three fantastic winners in quick succession in April has really raised the Rogues credibility in horse racing circles.
It all started at Brighton on the 12th of April when Rogue Bullet our three-year-old Bay Gelding, trained by Jack Jones at Newmarket and ridden by Luke Morris managed to hold off the challenge of a well-supported favourite to win a six-furlong race by a short head.
This supreme effort was followed up on 21st April at Wolverhampton by another eye-catching display by Rogue Dancer, a three-year-old Bay Filly trained and ridden by the same partnership as Rogue Bullet. Rogue Dancer showed her class by winning a six-furlong Handicap on the all weather track. An impressive display with the jockey bidding his time until the final 100 yards and won going away.
All roads for the Rogues now lead to Lingfield Park on April 23rd to watch Rogue Impact, trained by James Owen at Newmarket and ridden by Harry Davies. Rogue Impact a three-year-old Bay Colt had not been on the racecourse since last August and lined up against eight other rivals in a mile and a half Maiden Stakes. Hopes were high for a decent performance. The hopes were ratified by a superb performance by Rogue Impact who ran out the winner by one and a quarter lengths.
The Rogues Gallery owners have had their fair share of Drama and Champagne already but with the season only beginning and many more top-class horses to hit the racecourses this is surely going to be a season to remember for the Rogues.
