Rogue Lightning , The son of Kodiac, was having his first start for six months and he showed he had trained on with a game display in this competitive Listed event.
He was slightly rusty, missing a beat at the start and racing without cover in the early stages.
Despite this he was bang in contention at the furlong marker before tiring late on, holding on to third.
It was a promising start and hopefully there is more to come from this lightly raced colt.
Tom said: “He has picked up a few euros and some more black type. This was the softest ground he has encountered before and he is sure to come on from this effort.”
