Rogue Rocket ran in the prestigious Wood Ditton Maiden at Newmarket on Wednesday 14th April.
This is a race that boasts previous winners such as Gr3 winner Sky Kingdom and Gr1 winner Mukhadram. In a field of 13 runners including 2 Godolphin horses & HRH The Queen’s Kiteflyer – Rogue Rocket ran a very impressive race to be placed 4th by a nose from State Event (out of 3 time Gr1 winning mare Blue Bunting). The feeling was, he could have run a lot closer had it not been for the famous Newmarket dip in the ground which is known to unbalance many horses, so for his debut he ran a blinder.
Rogue Rocket is another example of the Rogues’ consistently punching above their weight, bought for a fraction of the price compared to the likes of the 2nd horse Secret State (Dubawi) with a price tag of £525,000 or the 6th placed Toophan (New Approach) at £190,000 – the winner also by Dubawi is out of a Galileo mare who cost £1.2m. Rogue Rocket was not out of place amongst this field. He looks like another hugely exciting prospect and has the scope & ability go on & win wherever he goes next.
